In His Heart

Psalm 15:1-2 A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
The word “heart” is used many times in Scripture. Our physical heart is the source of life. When one’s heart stops beating, life is no longer present. Without good heart health, a person cannot have overall wellness. Our spiritual life is no different. Metaphorically speaking, the heart is used to draw many comparisons in God’s Word.
Salvation is a matter of the heart.
- Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Service is a matter of the heart.
- Ephesians 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
Surrender is a matter of the heart.
- Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Our text verse uses the phrase “the truth in his heart.” We must ensure our overall spiritual health is filled with truth. The Bible is very clear that Jesus Christ and His Word are truth. We must, as His children, fill our hearts with the truth of His Word. The Bible states in Psalm 119:11 “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
This world is full of wicked deceit. May God’s Word work in our hearts so that we may always be filled with truth in our hearts.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Reflection—There will be many opportunities to give our heart to a person or a path that wisdom would warn against.
