Hope

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

Unfortunately, countless people walk around every day having no hope and no direction. Many turn to drugs, alcohol, social status, education, finances, among other things for fulfillment. God’s Word says that salvation brings hope.

Notice what the Apostle Paul tells the church at Colosse—  Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

As born-again believers, we look to our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, as our hope. We are not of this world, and we do not find our hope in temporal matters. One of my favorite verses in Scripture is 1 Timothy 1:1 “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;”

We are not like those that have no hope because we belong to our Creator which is our hope. This fact alone should encourage us to share the hope of the gospel to those without hope.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the only hope. Politics change, economic growth, and physical success will never solve this world’s problems. Jesus Christ is truly the only hope for this world.

1 Peter 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Reflection—I want to see Jesus and tell Him I love Him!
