Revelation 11:17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
What an honor it is to be able to give thanks to the Lord God Almighty—the One Who created us, died for our sins, and saved our soul.
In Acts 17:24-25, Paul stood on Mars Hill and said, God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; [25] Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
We do not serve a dead god or a dumb idol. We serve the King of kings and the Lord of lords. We are His sheep and the sheep of His pasture. For these reasons, we enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. He is worthy to be praised and receive thanks. We are to continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; (Colossians 4:2) We are blessed beyond measure, and may we never cease to give thanks to our Saviour.
Revelation 7:12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
Reflection—The praise of heavenly beings is an example for us. Scripture is clear: we are always to be thanking and praising God.
