Following the Will of God

Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Have you ever stopped to think about how many decisions you make every day? Some decisions are really easy like when my wife asked me what I wanted for dinner on my birthday! Fried chicken and mashed potatoes! Can I get an “amen” on that one?
But what do you do when you know the will of God for your life? It starts by obeying immediately. Immediate obedience is the most important part of our discipleship. So, the question is: How are you doing at obeying what God has told you to do? Remember this—Delayed obedience is disobedience.
There are some people trying to know God’s will about something in their lives while not obeying the will of God they already know. For example—The Bible is very clear that it is God’s will that we are to be soul winners, among other things. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
God wants us to give the gospel to everybody! How do we do that? It starts with obeying immediately!
We also need to pray. In Acts 1:13-14, we’re told the eleven disciples gathered with the women, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
But notice that “all” of them are in “one accord.” This means they were united in prayer as they carried out the mission for the glory of God. We need to be faithful, not only by obedience in giving out the gospel, but we also need to be praying faithfully.
Reflection—There were many faithful women following Jesus. Notice that Mary, the mother of Jesus, is praying WITH them, and they are NOT praying TO her.
