Desire of the Righteous

Proverbs 10:24-25 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. 25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
The Bible, from beginning to end, is a book about righteousness. The complexities of life simply come back to two categories — light and darkness, right and wrong, godliness and wickedness, righteousness, or unrighteousness. When we evaluate the path of our lives with God’s Word, we are given clarity on the end destination. In Proverbs 10:24, the Bible says, “The fear of the wicked shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.”
The end result of Adam’s disobedience in the garden was sin. The end result of Jesus Christ’s obedience in the garden was victory over sin. The book of Genesis begins with a perfect creation that is cursed with sin. The book of Revelation deals with a sin-cursed world and ends with victory through our Lord Jesus.
Revelation 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
The path we choose to follow has an end destination. If one chooses the path of the wicked, “it shall come upon him.” Scripture is also clear that the desire of the righteous shall be granted. The Bible tells of the joy and victory that come from a life of righteousness. Jesus Christ the Righteous is the way.
May we choose to follow Him every day.
Reflection—Woe to the wicked. Well to the righteous. Choose well to be well.
