Crooked Paths

Isaiah 59:8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
The Word of God gives many examples of the paths of life. In the New Testament, we read of the broad way that leads to destruction, but the narrow way is one that few travel. Isaiah 59:8 declares that a crooked path results in a life without peace.
The law of reaping and sowing is in effect when we make life decisions about the paths we choose to walk.
Proverbs 2:14-15 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; 15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
These crooked paths are not the ones God has chosen for us but rather are the result of rebellious decisions against our Creator. Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
When we choose the path God has for us, the result is mercy and truth, fullness of joy. Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Life is simple. When life becomes complicated, it is because we move away from the path of righteousness and take crooked paths that result in complexity and absence of peace. May God help us choose the path of wisdom and righteousness that will bring peace to our lives.
Proverbs 3:17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
