Bees In the Church – Part IV

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Another group of bees quietly residing in the church is the “used to bee.” They are characterized by the usage of the words – Used To. “I used to be faithful in attendance. I used to teach Sunday School, or be a bus worker, or preacher. I used to play the piano or sing in the choir. I used to _______.”
The “used to bee” had a strong start, maintained a good flight pattern, and stayed on course. His strength came from the Lord, and his sight was on things above. Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For quite some time, it joyfully buzzed along, sowing and reaping in the work of the Lord.
As time passed, amid busyness and serving, priorities gradually changed. This bee let the busyness of serving rob it of quality time for prayer and Bible study. Its soul grew hungry and thirsty for the sweet fellowship with God and strengthening of its own spiritual needs.
1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
Ever so slightly, a degree here and a degree there, had brought its daily flight pattern off course of what the Master had outlined. One day it found itself grounded because it did not get back on course. It grew weary in well doing and is doing little, if anything for Christ.
Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Reflection—Stay in The Word and keep your quiet time with God. Strive to hear the Words above and avoid being a Used To Bee, grounded because of weariness in well doing.
