Bees in the Church – Part III
For Women by Women

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
This Should & Could Bee is characterized by excuses of why it isn’t doing anything. I should be doing _______, but I am afraid I won’t do it right or as good as so and so. II Corinthians 10:12 warns us, “…they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
I should be calling to check on (specific person), but I just don’t have time. I should be going to church, but I am so tired. I could be in the choir, but I just don’t have the time to practice. I could go on visitation, but I like to have my Saturdays free. I could be tithing, but my credit cards are maxed out! I could do that, but NO one has asked me. I could be a bus worker, but I’ve never done anything like that. I could be a teacher, but I don’t know enough Bible.
These twin bees are buzzers – but not doers. Although they may really want to do those things, they lack commitment or self-discipline to become involved. If they do get involved, they seldom finish the task or become faithful in serving.
Sadly, these twin bees are more focused on their excuses. Their activity is either like a dot on a page as they are doing nothing, or as overlapping circles as they busily buzz around giving the appearance of busyness.
These bees usually have a good heart and are blessed with potential. They can overcome their self-limitations of fear, failure, rejection, ability, etc. They can have the fulfilling joy which comes from serving the Lord—by applying Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Reflection—We know more than we live up to. We see the Lord more clearly in our minds than others witness in our lives.
