Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
During my prayer time this morning I was thanking the Lord for His goodness to me. I am so thankful and amazed that at my age I still have the good health to travel and do the work that needs to be done to oversee the Lighthouse ministry. I give all the credit to the Lord – He has been so good to me. The older I get the more I realize I am nothing and He is everything. I am so thankful for the joy and privilege to be one of His children.
In our verse today the words “peace of God” means to be assured, confident, and secure in the love and care of God. It means to know that God will take care of us no matter the problem or circumstance. It means to be absolutely assured that God will allow nothing to swamp or defeat us. This confidence should make us thankful.
The critical point of this verse is that this peace only comes through knowing Christ as your Savior. Only Christ can bring lasting peace to the human heart. May each of us be determined to show our thankfulness by our service to Him.
Reflection—LET is a big little word. We have an alternative to our hearts being ruled by emotional drama.
