Absolute Surrender

Romans 12:1… present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God….
Andrew Murray was in Scotland and was discussing with a group of men what the greatest need of the church and of believers is. He was asked what was the greatest need, and what message should to be preached? He answered very quietly, simply, and determinedly, “After salvation, absolute surrender to God is the one thing.”
Did you know that God is begging for your surrender? Why is absolute surrender the greatest need in our church?
The condition of America’s churches demands absolute surrender. Here’s a hard fact—the church today is filled with powerless Christians who live almost anemic Christian lives. There’s no substance to their walk with God. Many neglect God’s Word. Many neglect prayer time and the basics of maintaining a proper relationship with God.
Just think of the Christians around you. The sickliness of the body will hinder us and break us down, unless we come to God! We must go to Him. In confession, we must separate ourselves from worldliness, we must get rid of the coldness toward each other and the lost. We must give ourselves entirely and wholly for God! You can’t have one foot in the world and trying to hold on to Heaven. Some think that they can have the best of both of worlds, but the truth is, they are getting the best of neither.
So, what do we do? We must ask God to show us how to surrender. James 4:2 says, “Ye have not because ye ask not.” When God shows you where to surrender, and you do it, that’s when you see the blessings of God coming in ways you couldn’t have possibly imagined. But it must be total surrender!
Reflection—1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
